Autonomous vehicles must have a precise understanding of their surroundings. It’s critical to recognize the presence of other vehicles, pedestrians, and other relevant impediments in normal traffic situations. High-resolution three-dimensional models of landscapes and building objects are produced using the widely used remote sensing technique known as Lidar (light detection and ranging). Lidar measures distances to the ground or other landmarks using laser pulses.
